Running for 24hrs is a hard task at the best of times and even harder when running trails in the dark. Unilite in its second year are proud to be the official light supplier to the race, which also runs in partnership with the RAF benevolent fund. The Spitfire Scramble is a 24-hour multi-terrain relay or solo race. You can run on your own or in teams of two to eight runners. As you run through the night, the event will put your speed, endurance, torch batteries and teamwork to the test in the only event of its kind in the London area. The event starts at midday when your ‘squadron leader’ begins your first 5.9-mile lap. As a team you will not stop again until midday the next day. Each squadron must have one runner on the course at all times and runners must complete a full circuit before handing over to a team mate. Last year 400 runners completed the course and numbers are expected to double for 2016. Last year some of our products were tested by a runner called Steve and you can watch his product review video here. For anyone wanting to test out their running ability be sure to check out the event, which will be taking place on the 13-14th of August this month. The event also has a charitable touch and supports the RAF benevolent fund.
We would like to thank the RAF benevolent fund and Spitfire scramble for their continued support for Unilite and our products. To all the runners taking part good luck and enjoy the race.
